Two nights ago, a juvenille black bear who lives in the Delaware Water Gap area hit the car I was riding in. I have no explaination for this, and I must admit that I have a hard time working it out in my head myself, but that bear ran right into Afton's passenger door, and upon leaving the Blairstown Inn, our favorite drinking hole with A-Treat birch beer on tap, we saw the true extent of the damage. There was no mailbox nor trash can. It was a bear. |

Neighborhood News
So this week I've seen speckled and spotted salamander, also a rabid raccoon and my first bear, dozing in a tree. This morning one of my co's Nancy spotted a bear in the tree by the dining hall, about 200 feet away, which we soon realized was a mama and two adorable monkeyesque cubs, wreaking havoc on this poor tree! It was lovely! And that's the latest news on this end! |
